Minnie Lee Branch, Daughter of Panky Coleman Williams |
The following is what we do know about the Coleman family; it is not a complete family tree;
it is a summary for the living Coleman's to show how we are related. George
Washington Coleman Sr. and Mary Coulter Coleman had ten children. Daniel, Amos, Osiah, Lillian, George Jr., Rosa, Anderson,
Panky, McKinley and Amie. Rosa, and Amie did not have any children. There are
no records showing whether Amos, Osiah or Anderson had children.

Gladys Coleman Goodwin, Daughter of McKinley Coleman |
Daniel the oldest of the Coleman children had one son, Samuel and a daughter Rosie. Lillian
had one daughter, Eliza Hollings Harris (my mother) George Jr. had one son, Johnnie and three daughters, Geneva
Coleman Haynes, Susie Mae Coleman Cooper, and Ethel Lee Coleman Rand. John McKinley Coleman had one daughter;
Gladys Goodwin. Panky Coleman Williams had one daughter; Minnie Lee Branch. From those five brothers
and sisters this family has grown to over 400 members. Johnnie Coleman, Geneva Haynes, Ethel
Lee Rand, and Susie Mae Cooper are brother and sisters. They are first cousins to Eliza Harris, Gladys
Goodwin and Minnie Branch. The surviving Coleman relatives are descendants of these first cousins.

We will meet in Memphis, Tennessee the weekend of June 20-22, 2003 for our Family Reunion. Some of us will
see each other after over 30 years and others will meet for the first time. We have been separated by miles,
because some roots grew far away, but they were never broken. Our roots stayed in tack because we grew from a strong
tree. Even though the miles separated us our love for each other never weakened. The theme for our family reunion
is; "Celebrating Our Roots". We are coming together for the first time to celebrate the strength of our ROOTS and our
LOVE for each other.
